Join St Martin’s Voices and Classic FM presenter Zeb Soanes from a magical candlelit St Martin-in-the-Fields for an hour of your favourite carols and readings, available to watch wherever you are in the world. Captivating performances of festive music will put everyone in the Christmas spirit and will help you prepare for the season’s celebrations.

The choir will sing much loved classics Sussex Carol, O Holy night and Carol of the Bells, alongside audience carols for all to join in with from home including In the bleak midwinter, God rest ye merry Gentlemen and Hark! The herald angels sing.

This concert will be available to watch from Wednesday 4th December 2024 at 7.30pm. You can then view it as many times as you like until 31st January 2025. You will be sent a link to watch the concert shortly before Wednesday 4th December.

For over 20 years Zeb Soanes was an authoritative newsreader and reassuring voice of the Shipping Forecast on BBC Radio 4. He now presents Relaxing Evenings at Seven on Classic FM, the UK’s most popular classical music station and at Easter presented a special interview with Dame Judi Dench, from her home, in which she shared her favourite pieces of classical music.

Zeb presents concerts with the UK’s leading orchestras and ensembles and is the author of the bestselling Gaspard the Fox series of books, which have also been adapted as narrated concert works by Jonathan Dove. His story Gaspard’s Christmas introduces the concept of homelessness to children in a gentle way and Zeb has gifted royalties from this book in perpetuity to support the work of St Martin in the Fields.

St Martin's Voices is one of the UK’s most versatile, professional vocal ensembles. They sing for concerts, broadcasts and special services at their base in London’s iconic St Martin-in-the-Fields and beyond, and regularly perform alongside the Academy of St Martin in the Fields, London Mozart Players and Piatti Quartet. In response to the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, St Martin’s Voices extended their digital recording projects, and was proud to feature in performances used by the Church of England’s online worship resources that have attracted more than 4 million downloads. They have toured to the USA and South Africa as well as undertaking extensive tours across the UK. The choir regularly features in broadcasts on BBC Radio 3, BBC Radio 4 and Classic FM. In 2023 they released their first album with Resonus Classics, A Winter Breviary, to critical acclaim.
